Last summer, we discovered job listing data trends that suggested Revel ($PRIVATE:GOREVEL) would be launching its electric moped service in Texas. Sure enough, the mobility startup fired up operations in Austin, Texas just weeks later.

Today, we have new hiring data indicating that Revel's next launch will take place in the California Bay Area.

In November 2019, Revel began its Bay Area ramp-up by listing 7 openings that are to be located in the Bay Area. The openings paint a pretty clear picture of an operation spinning up, including positions for Mechanics, Lessons Specialists, and Field Technicians — all multi-fill positions that will enable Revel to hit the ground spinning once it places available mopeds on streets.

Those positions — and their posting dates — are listed in full below.

Days ago, The Information found public records that show Revel in discussions to launch moped fleets in Berkeley, Alameda, and Emeryville, with an initial focus on the city limits of Oakland.

When we discovered the job listings in Texas in October, Revel's official announcement came within days. So far, the company has been quiet about its west-coast expansion plans, but now that the data is out there, we expect to see a similar announcement any moment now.

About the Data:

Thinknum tracks companies using the information they post online - jobs, social and web traffic, product sales and app ratings - and creates data sets that measure factors like hiring, revenue and foot traffic. Data sets may not be fully comprehensive (they only account for what is available on the web), but they can be used to gauge performance factors like staffing and sales.
