The New York metropolitan area is home to over 20 million people, and they're all hungry.

Many turn to delivery services, such as the ones on offer from Grubhub ($GRUB). And, according to Grubhub review data, New Yorkers are putting up more reviews than Americans from any other state, making it the delivery capital of the United States.

Restaurants on the Grubhub platform that are located in New York have over 7.3 million reviews. California, the state with the second most reviews, has "only" 2.3 million across all restaurants in the state.

Only two states — North Dakota and Wyoming — report zero reviews, and the state with the least number reviews is South Dakota with 40.

New Yorkers are so bent on reviewing restaurants — either to recommend it to others or complain about the quality of the food — that eight out of the top 10 most reviewed restaurants are all in New York. Specifically, six are in Brooklyn, including Sakura Tokyo in Bedford-Stuyvesant which has a massive 13,460.

On this top-10 chart, there are only three restaurants with delivery fees. While restaurants can change their fees at any time, it's definitely interesting to see that, in this snapshot, the majority of these most-reviewed restaurants are places with free delivery.

This data, of course, doesn't come without a huge caveat: there have been previous reports of Grubhub and Seamless reviews being faked. However, the company has made steps several years ago to combat the fake review crisis and prevent restaurants from gaming the system.
