Bank of America Corporation ($BAC), as of Frday, June 22, has 10,593 open positions according to its own job sites (and according to tracking data from the Thinknum Datalab).

While that may sound like a lot of positions — and it is — it's worthwhile to note that Bank of America is the second largest bank in the United States in terms of assets behind JPMorgan Chase. JPMorgan Chase's total assets are listed at $2,534 vs. Bank of America's $2,281 in billions.

The bulk of the open positions at Bank of America are in the US, with most at its Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters. New York City comes in a relatively close second.

As for the types of positions being filled, a large majority are for Client Service Representatives. These are the touchpoints for the company — the customer commuicators and the upsellers for additional financial services — so it's no surprise that Bank of America would be focused on growing this practice.
