Media outlets are anxious, news junkies are thrilled, and investors are trepidatious now that Apple ($AAPL) has finally released its News + $10-per-month all-you-can-eat... erm, read... news subscription service. The service hasn't been out for more than a week, and critics are already poking holes in the new service while journalists are calling News + the beginning of the end for magazines and newspapers.
But Apple is heads down, building its new service facets. In fact, it is investing in News + where it matters most: talent. Currently, the company has 28 positions open with the term "News" in its titles. Since it began hiring for News positions, Apple has listed at least 101 jobs with the term in their titles.
At its apex, Apple hiring for "News" reached 41 openings in September 2018 after a massive spike on the 19th.
